Install QOS on your phone

QOS runs in your browser, so there’s nothing to download from an app store. But if you add it to your phone’s Home Screen, it opens full screen like any other app. On an iPhone, that’s also what lets QOS send you notifications.

The icon is called Qualls OS.

  1. Open Safari and go to qos.qualls.co.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Tap the Share button.
  4. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  5. Close Safari and open Qualls OS from your Home Screen.
  6. Turn on notifications (see below). When iOS asks, tap Allow.
  1. Open Chrome and go to qos.qualls.co.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Open Chrome’s menu (the three dots) and choose Add to Home screen or Install app.
  4. Confirm, then open QOS from its new icon.
  5. Turn on notifications (see below). When Android asks, tap Allow.

The exact wording depends on your version of Chrome.

QOS works fine in a normal browser tab. Chrome and Edge may also show an install icon at the right of the address bar. If you install it, QOS opens in its own window. Notifications work in a browser tab too.

  1. Open QOS from the Home Screen icon (or your browser).
  2. Select the bell. At the bottom of the list, choose Enable notifications on this device. You can also do it from Account settings, under Notifications.
  3. Allow notifications when your phone asks.
  4. Choose Send test push to check it works. You’ll see how many devices it reached.

Once it’s on, the button reads Notifications on. Select it again to turn notifications off for this device. Then choose which updates you want in Notifications.

Now and then you’ll see Update available with a Reload button. Choose Reload to get the latest version.

If the notification prompt doesn’t appear

Section titled “If the notification prompt doesn’t appear”
  • On an iPhone, make sure you opened QOS from the Home Screen icon.
  • Check your phone’s settings for Qualls OS and make sure notifications are allowed. If QOS says notifications are blocked, allow them for the site in your browser settings, then come back and turn them on again.
  • Remove the icon from your Home Screen, add it again and sign in.
  • Check that a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb isn’t hiding alerts.
