Exporting

A print document has two exports, side by side above the pages.

Web PDF (RGB) is for screens: emailing, attaching to a listing, putting on a website. Colours are sRGB and the file is small.

Print PDF (CMYK) is for the printer. Its menu shows the colour profile your printer uses (for example CMYK · Coated FOGRA39) and two options:

  • Crop marks: lines in the margin showing where to trim.
  • Bleed: extends background colours and photos past the trim, so nothing white shows at the edge.

Ask your printer whether they want crop marks and bleed. Most do. The studio remembers your choice in this browser. Choose Export print PDF to download.

Some problems stop the export until they’re fixed:

  • Text that doesn’t fit its box. The PDF would cut it off.
  • Changes that haven’t saved. You can Try saving again, see what doesn’t fit, or Export the last saved version.

Others are warnings you can choose to ignore:

  • Placeholders still to fill: Show placeholders takes you to them, or Export anyway.
  • Photos under 200 ppi may print soft (see Photos).
  • Colours without their own CMYK values are converted through the press profile. If an exact brand colour matters, ask your designer to set its CMYK.

After downloading, the message confirms what went into the file, for example “Print PDF downloaded, with bleed and crop marks.”
