Retainers, Points and the Reserve Bank

If you’re on a retainer with us, your work is measured in Points. QOS shows how many you have left and where they’ve gone.

You’ll see Retainer in your menu only if you’re on a retainer and we’ve given you access. If you pay as you go, this part of QOS doesn’t apply to you.

The Points Remaining card is your running balance. You’ll see it at the top of Retainer, and on Projects too.

  • The big number is how many Points you have right now.
  • Rollover is what carried over from earlier months.
  • New is what’s been added this month.
  • Used in the current month shows what your projects have used so far.
  • The bar fills to show how much of this month’s total is left.

Below it is a card for each month of the year. Select a month to filter the activity list to it, and select it again to clear the filter.

The Activity list is a record of every change to your balance, with the date, the entry, the amount (+ / −) and the running Balance. You’ll see entries like:

  • a project, shown with its job number and title (select it to open the project),
  • a Top-up,
  • an Adjustment,
  • a Transfer from Reserve Bank, tagged Reserve, and
  • an invoice number, if the entry came from an invoice (select it to open the invoice).

You can see all of this, but you can’t edit it. If a number doesn’t look right, tell us the project or date and we’ll trace it.

The Reserve Bank holds Points that have been set aside, such as prepaid Points. They sit apart from your balance and aren’t used on their own. They only count once they’re moved across.

The Reserve Bank button is the piggy bank on the Points Remaining card, with its balance beside it.

  1. On Retainer, select the piggy bank button.
  2. In Reserve Bank, check the number under Available.
  3. Type how many Points to move. You can’t move more than are available.
  4. Add a Note (optional) if you like.
  5. Choose Transfer to balance.

The Points join your balance straight away, and the move shows in the Reserve ledger as Transferred to balance. It also appears in Activity as a Transfer from Reserve Bank.

QOS can tell you when your balance is getting low, at about a quarter of the monthly amount. Turn on Running low in Notifications, if it’s available to you.
