Putting a photo in
Section titled “Putting a photo in”Select an outlined photo frame and choose Choose from library (or Replace photo). Pick from the Brand Asset Library, or choose Add new image to upload your own. JPEG, PNG, WebP and TIFF all work. The studio prepares the photo in your browser before it uploads.
In an ad, choose the image field and search by name or tag. You can look in All available images, your project’s images or Master Assets.
Framing it
Section titled “Framing it”With the photo selected:
- Drag the photo to reposition it inside the frame.
- Zoom goes up to 3×.
- Rotate turns it 90° either way. Flip mirrors it. Straighten fixes a tilted horizon, up to 45° each way.
- Go back to the template’s photo or Remove photo if you change your mind.
In an ad, Adjust image position sets where the photo sits, and that position applies to every size.
Will it print sharply?
Section titled “Will it print sharply?”The studio checks each photo at the size it’s printed (after zoom), in pixels per inch (ppi):
| ppi | What you’ll see |
|---|---|
| 300 or more | Sharp for print |
| 200–299 | OK for print, may look soft up close |
| 150–199 | May look grainy in print, fine for the web PDF |
| Under 150 | Too small for print, web PDF only |
Anything under 200 ppi gets a badge on the page and a warning before a print PDF. The photo picker suggests the smallest width to aim for: “use a photo at least … pixels wide”.
