Notifications
QOS can tell you when something changes or needs you. There are three ways, and you choose which ones to use:
- The bell inside QOS. It always shows your updates.
- Push notifications on your phone or computer.
- Email alerts.
Which updates you can choose from depends on what we’ve turned on for your account.
The bell
Section titled “The bell”The bell is in the menu on a computer and at the top of the screen on a phone. A red number on it counts what you haven’t read.
Select the bell to see your newest updates. Opening the bell doesn’t mark anything as read.
- Select an update to open it. QOS takes you to the right place: the project (Open project), its notes (Open notes), the invoice (Open invoice) or your Points (View retainer). That update is then marked as read.
- Mark all read clears the red number.
- Clear all empties the list.
- The cross on an update (Dismiss notification) removes just that one.
Clearing the bell doesn’t change anything in your projects or invoices. It only tidies the list. When there’s nothing left, you’ll see You’re all caught up.
What you can be told about
Section titled “What you can be told about”You might be able to choose from updates like these:
Projects
- A project moves to Ready to create, Information required, Review, Revisions requested, Ready for FA, Completed, On hold or Cancelled.
- Someone adds a note to a project (Note added). You’re never alerted about your own notes.
Billing
- A quote is sent (Quote sent).
- An invoice is sent (Invoice sent).
- An invoice is paid (Invoice paid).
- An invoice goes back to draft (Returned to draft).
Retainer
- Points are added (Top-up added), or an adjustment is made (Adjustment made).
- Your balance falls to about a quarter of the monthly amount (Running low).
If an update you want isn’t on your list, ask us to switch it on.
Choose what you get
Section titled “Choose what you get”- Open Account settings. On a computer, select your name at the bottom of the menu. On a phone, open the menu and use the gear icon.
- Choose the Notifications tab.
- Under Push me when…, each update has a Push switch and an Email switch. Turn on the ones you want.
- At the top of each group, Push on (or Push off) and Email on (or Email off) switch the whole group at once.
Nothing is pushed or emailed to you until you switch it on. Turning both off for an update doesn’t hide it. It still shows in the bell.
Push notifications
Section titled “Push notifications”Push notifications appear on your phone or computer, even when QOS isn’t open. To get them:
- Add QOS to your phone, if you’re on one.
- In the Notifications tab (or the bell), choose Enable notifications on this device, and allow it when asked.
- Choose Send test push to check it’s working.
You turn push on for each device separately. If you use QOS on both a phone and a laptop, do it on both.
Email alerts
Section titled “Email alerts”An email alert has the same title as the update, and an Open in QOS button that takes you straight to it. They come from noreply@qualls.co.
We may also send you a reminder email that lists jobs waiting on you, such as ones sitting at Information required or Review. If you’d rather not get those, tell us.
If notifications aren’t turning up
Section titled “If notifications aren’t turning up”- Check the switch for that update is on, under Account settings, then Notifications.
- Check your browser or phone allows notifications for QOS.
- On an iPhone, make sure QOS was added to the Home Screen and you opened it from there.
- Check that a Focus mode, Do Not Disturb or a notification summary isn’t hiding it.
- For email, look in spam, junk and your quarantine, and ask your IT team to allow noreply@qualls.co.
