Importing from InDesign
Print templates start life in InDesign.
What to export
Section titled “What to export”Either works:
- An IDML file: in InDesign, File › Export, format InDesign Markup (IDML).
- A zip of the packaged folder (recommended): File › Package, then zip the folder. Its Document fonts and Links come in too: fonts go into the library and photos land in their frames.
The zip must hold exactly one IDML.
Importing
Section titled “Importing”New template › Print document · Import from InDesign, then choose the file under InDesign file. When it’s done you’ll see Imported. Choose what clients can change, then publish it.
If it stops on fonts
Section titled “If it stops on fonts”Every font the document uses has to be in the library. If one’s missing, the import names it. Either upload the font (TTF or OTF) to the Brand Asset Library first, or import the packaged folder so its fonts come with it.
After importing
Section titled “After importing”Everything starts locked. Work through What clients can change, check the pages, then publish.
